I’m now living in Wisconsin, working to start a farm here, and therefore won’t be returning to Florida to farm this winter.

What is Backyard Community Farm?

Backyard Community Farm is a new urban agricultural project in Lake Worth. It’s a CSA farm (Community Supported Agriculture) in the truest sense. I’m growing small farm plots in various neighbors’ backyards around town, planting and tending to one or two crops in each location, and in 4-6 weeks will begin weekly deliveries of cut, washed and packed assortments of fresh local organically grown vegetables. These weekly “shares” of the crop will range in cost from $5 to $15, depending on the number of crops available for harvest each week. Contrary to the accepted model for CSA’s around the country, these vegetables will not need to be payed for in advance, but rather at the time of delivery. But for the same reason, I’m going to need a little community support to get the project off the ground.
